Vince: We’d like to talk about the “No Fun League,” I mean the NFL this week because it has been a very busy offseason thus far. What are some moves we have seen that have stuck out or surprised you guys?
John: We have seen LeSean McCoy become a Buffalo Bill this offseason, moving from Philadelphia to Buffalo. Buffalo now is going to be more explosive with their running game. Another move was Sam Bradford (Former St. Louis Ram) and Tim Tebow both landing in Philadelphia with the Eagles. My question is why would the Eagles want Tim Tebow? If i was the coach I would make (Tebow) a Tight end or using him as a slasher because even though (Tebow) has won games when he played for the Denver Broncos, to me Tebow is not a prolific QuarterBack. Also Sam Bradford has to be healthy to be effective because we have seen in the past he is injury prone. I believe the reason why there are so many moves happening in Philadelphia is because Coach Chip Kelly wants a team that represents him. He doesn’t want a Diva on the team like all these NFL stars are becoming. Chip Kelly wants control of the whole team and wants the final say so on players to keep and trade away. (Kelly) thinks he is the General Manager of this Philadelphia team.
Russell: As a Chicago Bear fan, I think they did pretty good moves this year. It is a bit too early to talk about this because the NFL draft hasn’t occurred yet and that is when teams trade away players to get good draft picks. I feel the Bears need a QuarterBack because Jay Cutler can’t do it and they paid him too much money. Now the Bears can’t really take a pay cut or anything.
Vince: I also feel the Bears threw (Former Bear) Brandon Marshall under the bus this past season to save Jay Cutler’s bacon. They threw him under the bus because (Marshall) had one bad season but he was injured most of the time so, you can’t really point at his performance. Although Cutler was healthy, I wish he was injured, he was killing the Bears. He was brutal and when Marshall is healthy he can perform not like Cutler.
Russell: I went to a Bears game last year and man he was terrible. He didn’t look good at all, he couldn’t do anything right. Defense saved him that game with a interception touchdown to win the game. The Bears have done well this offseason so far except for the Quarterback situation. Defense is another issue they are addressing by signing no name guys up for the Bears roster. Also another big offseason move was one that affected the Cowboys. I am sorry for the Cowboys because they lost (Running Back) DeMarco Murray, he was the leading rusher this last season and was really good. They didn’t even sign that man to a contract so it was sad to see him go.
Vince: Well, it was either (Murray) or Dez Byrant (Wide Receiver). They flipped a coin and decided to go with Byrant.
John: It’s funny because Murray was the one that won a ton of games for the Dallas Cowboys and not Dez Byrant.
Russell: Another move is Ndamukong Suh. Goodbye Suh because he no longer is a Detroit Lion, he has moved to Miami to play with the Dolphins. That was a good move because he was dirty.
Vince: Coming up is the fight of the century folks and probably the biggest fight in a while. People said Boxing was dead and it was being replaced by UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) but this fight coming up proves that Boxing is big time. The fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is about to start and I have StreetWise vendor Andy Allen to discuss his thoughts on the fight. Why did this fight take so long to happen?
Allen: It is very hard to bring two great boxers together like this because of the controversy between the two. Plus there is a lot of money involved when it comes to these kind of games. I like Mayweather because he is very popular in the black community. He has fought a ton just like Muhammad Ali and Iron Mike Tyson. I feel Mayweather has stepped to the plate to keep boxing interesting. I feel Manny Pacquiao is up and coming boxer and he is looking for a representation. I predict Mayweather will win in a split decision.
