StreetWise vending has been a way for me to supplement my retirement income after retiring from full-time work. I thank God I have never been down and out like so many vendors have, but as a senior citizen it is very difficult to find a regular, permanent job, either full-time or part-time. I also like being able to choose my own hours.
My interaction with the public, while not always pleasant, has been more positive than negative.
I appreciate that StreetWise is more than a magazine; it is a full social service agency. I once took advantage of the social services when I was living in a building that would be closing and I needed to find a new place to live. I was able to find a new apartment because of the help and a suggestion I received from the StreetWise Managing Director of Programs Sarah Brown.
I am so glad I can supplement my retirement income by selling StreetWise magazine and that I can get social services when I need them.
I am also proud to be a member of an organization that was founded to help the down and out. I am proud to be a writer of StreetWise so I can help StreetWise get its message across.

Overall, the experience that I have had at StreetWise has been positive, mostly!
From meeting and interacting directly with the public, to earning money faster, from the social services offered, and help with housing, StreetWise offers opportunities that other organizations may not have.
My advice to people who may be in need is “Take Advantage of the Opportunities StreetWise Offers, Especially Regarding Jobs and Housing!”
