Is there enough affordable housing in Uptown and surrounding neighborhoods for 2,000 people displaced in the last two years from the Chateau and other low-rent hotels? The Lakeview Pantry gave Chateau residents a list of 62 low-income housing buildings.
During the last week of February, StreetWise compiled its own list from phone calls and visits to the following properties. Some of the data was gathered from a larger, Chicago-wide list posted by LIFT-Chicago at www.chicagosubhousing.wetpaint.com. The findings below are expected to fluctuate:
