Issue: February 1 – February 7, 2012
Inside this issue:
In honor of Black History Month, StreetWise has featured the Shorefront Legacy Center, whose founder Dino Robinson talks about capturing stories of seven communities on the North Shore. African-American history came full circle for Robinson as he watched Barack Obama’s televised presidential inauguration with Rose Jourdain, daughter of Evanston’s first Black alderman. Dino also discusses Jourdain’s novel discussing her father’s experience running for office as an African American man, which shares many similarities with the current president.
