Growing up in an impoverished Home I am aware of what its like to live in an economic disadvantage home. Having a mother who used me for her human traffic business at the age of 7 to support my stepfather’s alcohol addiction. This was the beginning of my sexual abuse exposure as It didn’t stop there. I had suffered from the hands of two uncles who invaded my body simultaneously from the ages of 8 – 12. My siblings and I were controlled by both parents with physical, emotional and mental abuse that was very difficult to endure. My mother tended men’s needs before her children’s which left me alone in charge many days and nights tending to me and my siblings. At the age of 15 when I couldn’t take it any longer “I thought” I was taking cover by running away from home into the streets. To my finding there was no recovery from the abuse as discovered a new world. I dropped out of school from there I was introduced into the world of gangs, and drugs where I formed an addiction that led to prostitution. Living a lost life of homelessness & feeding an addiction I was raped by my drug dealer who happened to be a head gang leader. I was then introduced to the effects of other consequences as I had gotten pregnant from my ordeal. It wasn’t until I felt my unborn baby move that changed my life forever.

I cleaned the drugs out of my system, went back to HS where I graduated on stage at the age of 20. I then was able to get a job to get off public Assistance to help me focused to better myself as a single mother. My dreams kept growing as I Became a homeowner at the age of 26 where I still reside 18 years later. In the past 17 years I have taken in 38 homeless people to support in their hardship. I started my own Organization to feed, clothe and help the homeless as well as low income communities. Through extensive therapy I went from Victim to Victory by overcoming Two Mental Illness that was form in me from all the years of trauma, & childhood abuse. Today I can say that I am well managed from Borderline Personality Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Through diligent work I mission out to motivate & inspire those who suffer from the forms of abuse that I have been through. I encourage those to seek mental help, along with giving leadership and love to many in need of support who feel alone and ashamed of where or what they have been through. I lead by example to show and tell my accomplishments of success in living a clean life of dangerous street drugs. I also share my story of my daughter who was born with water on her brain from 5 months of drug use while pregnant. When she was 1 week old she had to have a spinal tap done where ER doctors told me she could suffer from a learning disability. She has her own success story as she graduated HS with a 4-year full academic scholarship to DePaul University. From there she went on to gain a master’s in psychology at the age of 23 God showed that he has the last say so! Together we show, and tell how all things are possible, I am a living testimony that with determination, with the will, and desire it doesn’t matter where you came from it's where you’re going that will make you who you are. Supported out of my own pocket and In-kind donations I serve anywhere from 500 to 3,000 people every year out of my very own home where Humble Hearts was formed.

I host events, motivational speaking, workshops and seminars on how to take a mess as you can turn it into a message of recovery. I want to show internal growth to live a successful life in society by means of getting and holding a job, striving to be good parent, breaking stigmas on mental disabilities and economic/ statistic barriers.
